It’s Begining To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

Involve Northwest are teaming up with Progress to Excellence this Christmas to give our local Pensioners a day to remember!

Progress to Excellence’s Head Office at the Pacific Road Business Hub in Birkenhead is closing it’s doors for the day tomorrow, while staff from both Involve Northwest and Progress to Excellence put heart and soul into giving lonely and isolated older people from the local community a special festive treat.

Around 100 pensioners will sit down to a three-course Christmas lunch (with all the trimmings!) as part of a day of entertainment, fun and laughter, organised in partnership with the Wirral-based training provider.

Damian Burdin, Progress to Excellence CEO, explained: “In recent years we have seen first hand some of the amazing work done in the local community by Involve Northwest and have been particularly pleased to support their Christmas lunch for the elderly, usually held in a church hall in Birkenhead.”

“This year, we thought they could come over to us at our new headquarters at Pacific Road! So we’re closing our business for the day and everyone’s putting their time and energy into giving everyone a Christmas treat to remember!”

The decorations and tree are already up in Pacific Road’s function room and a range of commercial cooking equipment is being brought in for everyone to prepare and cook lunch, assisted by staff from No. 4 Pacific Road, the Progress to Excellence bistro. Followed by festive entertainment, dancing, raffles and bingo.

Involve Northwest CEO, Justine Molyneux, said:“The Christmas party is a day we look forward to all year and it’s a privilege to be able to do this for the older people in our community. Many of them don’t get out much so, once they’ve had their lunch, we pack the afternoon with plenty of fun and good cheer.”
