David

Trustee

David was born in New Ferry, and lived his bachelor days in Bromborough. In his married life he has slowly migrated across the Wirral towards the River Dee. He has a degree in Civil Engineering from Nottingham University and started working life, in 1970, as a Site Engineer for a local Civil Engineering Contractor, Mears Construction. In 1976, he joined BP Projects Department as a Site Construction Engineer. Over the years, he worked on petrochemical projects in a variety of different locations in the UK and abroad and in increasingly more responsible roles, becoming a Project Manager on major offshore oil and gas developments. In 1998, he took early retirement from BP and took on a part-time role as a Project Management Consultant to the petrochemical and utilities industries, which he did for about 5 years.

David became a member of a local Rotary Club, a worldwide organisation whose members look to ‘give back’ to their communities, which lead to him becoming a Trustee of the ’Tranmere Alliance’, a charity that has since evolved to become ’Involve Northwest’.
He has three children and four grandchildren. Outside of work, David has always been a keen sportsman; rugby and squash being his ‘sports of choice’ during his younger years. Nowadays, the more sedentary pastime of golf is his limit.
