Our History & Local Roots

For more than 30 years, we have been supporting people and strengthening communities across Wirral. Originally established in 1991 as Tranmere Alliance, the organisation was created by local people who wanted to make a lasting difference within their community.

As the needs of Wirral have evolved, so too has the organisation. What began as a community-based initiative has grown into a respected local charity, delivering a wide range of services that improve lives, promote wellbeing and help people overcome the challenges they face.

Today, we are entering an exciting new chapter as Involve. Whilst our name is changing, our purpose remains exactly the same: to work alongside people and communities, providing support that empowers individuals, strengthens resilience and creates opportunities for people to thrive.

Our roots are firmly embedded in Wirral. We understand our communities because they are our communities. Our services are shaped by listening to local people, responding to local priorities and working collaboratively with partners to meet changing needs.

We are proud to work alongside residents, community groups, charities and public sector organisations to improve health and wellbeing, reduce inequalities, tackle social isolation, support people experiencing domestic abuse, provide advice and guidance, and help people live happier, healthier and more independent lives.

As Involve, we will continue to build on the strong reputation we have established over the last three decades—remaining a trusted, compassionate and professional organisation that puts local people at the heart of everything we do.

We are excited about our future and committed to continue to work with our partners to influence the policies that drive wider system changes to enable people to live happier, healthier and more independent lives.
