John Callcott was born and raised in Rock Ferry. Now living in Heswall, he is married and has two adult children. John is a Chartered Measurement and Control Technologist, and is a registered Engineer in a number of countries. His career spans over 45 years spent exclusively in the power industry and has held Senior Management roles with a number of global blue chip companies.
He spent 18 years in Hong Kong during which time he was Director of Engineering for the 7,500MW HK Fleet and during this time he gained an Advanced Diploma in Management and a BA in Business Administration from The Hong Kong University.
Further roles held include Director of O&M for Europe and Asia Pacific with Intergen; with GEC Alstom, as Technical Director of Plant Services, Director of Generation for the Global Gas Fleet and Vice President Strategic Growth in UK, Scandinavia, India, and Asia Pacific.
In 2008 John received a ministerial appointment as a non-executive director for the NHS and also sits as a Governor of Cheshire Mental Health Trust. John recently worked as the Managing Director of a UK power business, based in Derbyshire.
