Since its inception as the Tranmere Alliance over twenty years ago, Involve Northwest’s ethos has always revolved around supporting the community with accurate, impartial advice and support; easily accessible, entirely confidential and entirely free.

This philosophy of involving communities and inspiring change is evident throughout all of its services, and is matched with the passion and enthusiasm of its staff, and the commitment and drive of its management team.

Having secured funding from Wirral Council and the European Social Fund, to continue providing an employment support service across Wirral, Involve’s Birkenhead-based ReachOut team have relocated to a shop-fronted office in the Laurie’s Centre on Claughton Road.

“We feel extremely lucky to have moved into a great central location in the heart of Birkenhead”, says Job Coach, Matt Jones. “As well as its brilliant location, the new facilities allow us to provide an even better quality of service, with a computer suite to enable clients to complete their job-search independently, and confidential meeting rooms to continue to provide a personal, one-to-one individual service. And, of course, it’s also really handy for grabbing a bottle of milk on the way into work for our coffee at break-time!”

In addition to the European Social Fund, Involve Northwest have also been awarded a grant from the Big Lottery ‘Reaching Communities’ fund to continue providing their vital Benefits Advice and Tribunals service for a further three years. The Advice service, based at Involve’s head office on New Chester Road in Rock Ferry, provides welfare benefits advice to all residents of Wirral, as well as providing representation at tribunal appeals and fourteen outreach advice surgeries every week.

Justine Molyneux, Chief Executive Officer at Involve Northwest, said “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded further funding to continue our free Advice Service at a time when demand for such advice on Wirral remains high, whilst other services are under pressure to provide such advice. We offer our services to all residents of Wirral; irrespective of where you live and whether you are working or not. Involve Northwest provide a number of other support services ranging from employment / job coaching to domestic abuse family support. We have also been successful with other funding to provide a new debt advice service from October.”
